The Greatest Joy

The greatest joy you’ll ever experience in life is leading someone to Christ. There’s nothing like praying the prayer of salvation with an unbeliever and witnessing the miracle of new life.

It’s much like the miracle of natural birth. There is great joy when a baby is born into the world. In the same way, all of heaven rejoices when someone is born into the family of God.

I want you to experience that kind of joy over and over again. Here’s a simple way to lead someone to Christ.

1. Build a Relationship

People are often more open to hearing about Jesus when they know you genuinely care about them. Listen to their story, love them well, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your conversations toward spiritual things.

2. Share Your Personal Story

Your testimony is one of the most powerful tools you have. Simply share what your life was like before you knew Jesus, how you came to know Him, and the difference He has made in your life.

3. Explain the Gospel

Walk them through the simple truths of the gospel, often called the Romans Road.

• God’s Plan: God loves us deeply and desires a relationship with us.

• The Problem (Sin): Every one of us has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard (Romans 3:23).

• The Solution (Jesus Christ): The wages of sin is death, but God offers the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again so we could have eternal life (Romans 6:23).

• Our Response: We receive this gift by placing our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9–10).

4. Lead Them in Prayer

If they are ready to receive Christ, invite them to pray a simple prayer like this:

Lord Jesus, I know that I need You. I believe You died for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. Today I receive Your forgiveness and place my trust in You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for giving me eternal life. I believe I am now a child of God. Amen.

5. Encourage Spiritual Growth 

Leading someone to Christ is just the beginning. Help them grow by encouraging them to read the Bible, pray, and connect with a healthy local church family like Winners Church. Celebrate their decision and walk alongside them as they take their next steps in following Jesus.
