The 2nd Half

We’ve reached the end of the first six months of the year, and we’re about to begin the second half. Maybe the first half wasn’t your best. Maybe you feel like you could’ve done more. Whatever you’re feeling, remember this: the Lord is with you, and He has declared that this is the year of better. So, expect nothing but better for the rest of the year.

God is not moved by cycles or seasons. He is the unchanging God—moved only by His love for you and your faith in Him. He has brought you this far by His grace, and He’s not finished with you yet. There’s more in store for you. Divine surprises are waiting for you. I can say this with confidence because of something Moses experienced. In Exodus 33, Moses asked God to show him His glory. When we get to 34th chapter of Exodus, God showed Moses His glory by revealing who He is:

“The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin…” - (Exodus 34:6–7)

After this powerful encounter, Moses used what he learned about God’s glory to intercede for Israel:

“So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped. Then he said, ‘If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us… and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance.’” - (Exodus 34:8–9)

In showing Moses His glory, God was giving him the keys to victory. And just like Moses, God has given you the same keys—His mercy, His grace, His patience, His goodness, and His forgiveness. Use those keys. Be like Moses and pray that God would be gracious to you and help you experience the year of better.

Know this: God will answer your prayer, give you His mercy, place His grace on you, and surround you with His goodness. When God sees you, He sees you through the eyes of favor and is always ready to help you.

So, for the next six months:

  • Expect good things.

  • Believe that the second half will be better than the first.

  • Share His goodness with others.

Don’t feel overwhelmed. Don’t let life’s pressures steal your joy or hope. God has brought you this far by His grace—and He’s not done. There’s more ahead. Greater things. Divine surprises. Keep moving forward in faith.
