Maximizing the Joy of Christmas
Early yesterday morning I cancelled my trip to London…again! lol!! Why? I simply didn’t want to go anymore. Even though it’s one of the best times of the year to be in Europe…even though I’ve always wanted to experience Christmas in Europe…I felt like I was cramming so much into this month, and the idea of going was no longer enjoyable.
So, canceling it brought me great relief and joy.
The good news is, I have until March to go—so I’ll go sometime around then. But for now, I get to fully engage in the Christmas season right here in New York City.
Why am I telling you this? To help you maximize the joy of this season.
If you’re doing something that’s taking away from the joy of the season, stop doing that thing. You are free to do what makes YOU happy. The Bible says, “It was for FREEDOM that Christ set us FREE…” (Gal. 5:1). So this Christmas season, walk in your freedom! I know I am.
Here’s a word that just came to my heart: God is so much bigger than the misery we assign ourselves to.
Wow!
Another way to maximize the joy of the Christmas season is by giving. Yes—giving. The Bible says, “…God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:8)So, once again, I’m asking you to be a cheerful giver and direct your generosity toward Winners Church during this Christmas season. Help us to end the year strong.
This year in our “Year of Better,” God blessed us with:
• 58 visitors
• 24 people who received Christ
• 12 water baptisms
• 1 person filled with the Holy Spirit
• 7 new members joining our church family
We are excited about all of these beautiful results. To God be the glory!
Your financial gift will help us reach and lift up more people across this borough and city. Thank you for what you will do TODAY. Let your heart be filled with the JOY of GIVING in Jesus’ name!
