OMG! I Might Miss Church
Last Sunday, Pastor Fabienne and I were awakened in the middle of the night by our daughter. She said she was very hot and shivering at the same time.
My first thought was, “This is not the time to be sick. I need to be at church. I want to hear the Word, and I have the recorder to capture the service.” In addition, Pastor Fabienne had a committed ministry engagement that she could not miss.
So, Pastor Fabienne and I went into deep, intense prayer for her. As I prayed, I wondered where this passion to pray had come from. The Lord revealed to me that my deep desire to see my daughter healed—so I wouldn’t miss church—was driving me to pray with fervency.
As I continued, I sensed the Lord say, “Plead your case by using the Scriptures.” So, I declared:
Psalm 23:1,6
“1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want… 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…”
Psalm 103:2-3
“2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,”
Psalm 91:10
“10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;”
Then I fell asleep. When I woke up, the fever was still there. I prayed and prayed until it was time to go to church. By then, Pastor Fabienne had left for her ministry engagement, and the fever remained. I was frustrated. That’s when I felt the Lord speak to me: “If you are frustrated, you are not in faith. Stay in faith and give thanks. You do not know when the manifestation will take place.”
I then remembered the story of the father who asked Jesus to heal his son in John 4:46-53, and Daniel’s prayer in Daniel 10. In both stories, they made their requests but saw the manifestation later.
I immediately changed my attitude and gave thanks. I’m not sure when it happened, but my daughter was healed, and the fever never returned that day. Praise God. Thank you Jesus.
With that being said, start in faith, stay in faith and give thanks in faith. You never know when your desired manifestation will take place.
