Pushing Yourself Through
Our God is the Master of the Breakthrough. This means He knows how to get you to the other side of every mountain, obstacle and difficult situation. He knows how to help you breakthrough every wall of containment, limitation and resistance. However, there’s a part you have to play. You must push yourself through.
Think of David. He pushed himself through the pain of losing his wives and children at Ziklag. He pushed through grief, anger, disappointment and the severe criticism of his own military men. Instead of collapsing under pressure, he strengthened himself in the Lord, pursued his enemies and recovered everything that was lost.
Think of Esther. She had to push through fear and uncertainty to approach the king. She pushed herself through by faith and favor and obtained the victory her people desperately needed. She literally helped stop a national annihilation. Though not mentioned specifically, Esther would certainly fit among those the apostle Paul described as people who “obtained a good testimony through faith.” Why? Because she pushed herself through.
Now think about yourself. What do you need to push yourself through?
Is it fear? Anger? Disappointment? Laziness? Indecision? Perfectionism? Discouragement? Whatever it is…GET TO THE OTHER SIDE!
You have a God-given destiny to fulfill. You have great assignments to complete and big goals to accomplish. By the grace of God and self-determination, you can do it. Notice what Paul said:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
Notice this was a joint venture between Christ’s strength and Paul’s personal effort. God supplies the power, but we must supply the willingness to move forward in faith.
Will you “obtain a great testimony through faith?” I believe you will.
